The goal of this project was to produce a treatise on the art of secret writing.

Taken from the Preface:

‘It seems 2023 is the year of the pocket index! It feels like a new index is being advertised every month, each claiming to use less and less space, and each in turn claiming less and less fumbling time in your pocket.

So what if I told you that with a little practice, you can have in your pocket (just one pocket) an index half of the depth of a deck of cards? Not only that, but it also allows you to predict practically anything, with less fumbling, and just as quick? Too good to be true? Perhaps not!

Pw is a tool that has served me well over the years, yet I have personally never found much of interest on the subject. That is not to say there is not some fascinating work on the technique, however, the majority of the content focuses more on how to do the tricks than how to use the tool.

Let’s face it, we all have enough tricks, and if you put the effort into learning pocket writing then you will have endless opportunities in your pocket too. The tricks are not what you need, the tool is. By learning how to use the tool correctly you will learn when to use it, too.

Therefore, the purpose of this book is the other way around. My goal here is to give you a firm foundation on which to build so that you can get a head start when practising with this tool. Within the pages, you will learn all of the nuances of my pocket writing in the hope that it will help you find your own preferences within your own performance style.’
